Rays Church in Bishop Georgia is proud to share the impact our community made through this year’s Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry. Our church family came together again to support this global outreach effort organized by Samaritan’s Purse. The goal of the program is to deliver Christmas gifts and the message of Christ’s love to children in need across the world.
This year our congregation packed more than one hundred shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items and personal notes of encouragement. Every box represents a child who will receive joy and hope because of the generosity of our local community in Bishop GA and our neighbors throughout Watkinsville GA Bogart GA and Farmington GA.
A Ministry that Connects Bishop and the World
Operation Christmas Child allows a small community church like Rays Church to reach far beyond our local area. Each shoebox is a simple but powerful reminder that God sees and loves every child. These boxes will travel to children facing poverty natural disasters and difficult circumstances. Something as small as a pencil or a toy often becomes a life changing symbol of care and compassion.
A True Community Effort
This project succeeded because our church family and our local communities worked together. Families spent time shopping for items. Volunteers of all ages helped sort and pack. Children joined in with excitement. Many of our members gathered to pray over the boxes and ask for blessings on the children who will receive them.
Rays Church values service. We believe that faith is something we express through action and kindness. This year’s Shoebox Ministry reminded us of the strong spirit that exists in Bishop GA and the surrounding communities of Watkinsville GA Bogart GA and Farmington GA.
